Everybody loves biscuits, especially homemade biscuits. I get the feeling of happiness and contentment when I cook. I am hoping you get the same.

In today’s article, I would like to share with you the Top 3 recipes to make biscuits at home without an oven:

Recipe 1 of 3: Biscuits with sesame seeds.

Recipe 2 of 3: Atta Biscuit Recipe.

Recipe 3 of 3: Choco Chip Biscuits

Also, I would like to give you some bonus info on Sesame seeds, atta and choco chips at the end of each recipe.

Recipe 1 of 3: Biscuits with sesame seeds.

INGREDIENTS

  • 150 gm of all-purpose flour
  • 100 cups of powdered sugar
  • 1/3tsp salt
  • 1/3 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup of milk
  • 50-gm butter
  • 2 tsp of Sesame Seeds

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. In a  bowl, add all-purpose flour ( maida).
  2. Add powdered sugar.
  3. Add sesame seeds.
  4. Add salt.
  5. Add baking powder.
  6. Add butter.
  7. Mix it well, using your hands.
  8. Add milk and prepare a mixture that is stiff and smooth.
  9. Remove whistle and rubber gasket from the pressure cooker.
  10. Put a stand or bowl inside the pressure cooker.
  11. Roll out a portion of the dough.
  12. Cut at a distance of 1 inch. Take each piece in your hand and roll it into a small ball.
  13. Press it into the shape of a biscuit, you can press on it using a grater to get a pattern on the biscuit.
  14. Place 3-4 biscuits in a row (as per space available) and place it on the stand inside the pressure cooker.
  15. Close the lid. Turn on the flame. Let it cook for 10-15 mins on low flame.
  16. Open the lid. Biscuits are ready.

Cons of Sesame seeds:


In some individuals, sesame seeds or food products containing sesame seeds/oil can cause allergic reactions. Therefore, if you experience an allergic reaction after eating sesame seeds, it is advisable to consult your doctor.

Recipe 2 of 3: Atta Biscuit Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  • 60g ghee (¼ of a cup)
  • 90g of sugar
  • 150g of Atta
  • 3/4tsp of Baking Powder
  • 15g Maida.
  •  60g of milk.

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Add 60g (about ¼ cup) of ghee onto the plate. Please make sure it is not melted. It should be semi-solid.
  2. Add 90 g powdered sugar. (Don’t use icing sugar.)
  3. Mix using your hands until it transforms from yellowish to creamy in colour.
  4. After the Mix becomes nice and fluffy add baking powder and about 75g of atta along with 15 of maida. (Maida can make the biscuits lighter and tastier but it is optional.) Mix well until dry.
  5. Add milk little by little. Also, add the remaining atta little by little. After all the ingredients are added, mix till it becomes a dough.
  6. You can use an idli tray to prepare the biscuits.
  7. Take small portions and roll it into a ball between your palms. Remember each small ball is for one biscuit. Press it into the shape of a biscuit.  You can also make the biscuits using murukku maker or the biscuit maker. 
  8. Now place the biscuits in the Idli tray ( you may apply a little bit of oil on the tray so that the biscuits won’t stick onto it.) 
  9. Prepare the cooker by adding 1 ½ cups of salt into the bottom of the cooker.
  10. Place a utensil stand or a ring inside the cooker so that the idli trays don’t touch the bottom of the cooker. ( this is done to prevent the biscuits from burning).
  11. Close the cooker with its lid (make sure the gasket and whistle are removed.) keep it on high flame for about 10 minutes to preheat the cooker before placing the biscuits inside it.
  12. Now place the trays inside the cooker, close the lid. Cook for 10-15 minutes on low flame.
  13. Your Biscuits are ready. Allow them to cool under a fan completely before mesmerising in its taste.

  1. Many that are on a strict weight loss diet should consider avoiding it because of its high gluten content.
  2. For certain people, wheat can be hard to digest, causing a certain form of allergy, attracting nasal discharge symptoms, nausea.

Recipe 3 of 3: Choco Chip Biscuits.

INGREDIENTS

  • 100g of Maida.
  • 35g of sugar
  • 10g of Oats Flour
  • One pinch of salt
  • ⅛ tsp of Baking soda.
  • 60g of Butter.
  • 1-2 tbsp of Milk.
  • Handful / 25 g of Choco Chips.

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. In a mixing bowl, add 100g of maida,  add powdered sugar, add powdered oats, add a pinch of salt and add baking soda.
  2. Now add butter. Create the dough using your fingers.
  3. Add a few drops of milk if it is difficult to create the dough.
  4. Add a handful of choco chips, (homemade choco chips is best ) but you can also try Morde Dark Compound chocolate.
  5. Keep the dough aside for 20 minutes.
  6. Prepare the cooker by adding 1 ½ cups of salt into the bottom of the cooker.
  7. Place a utensil stand or a ring inside the cooker so that the idli trays don’t touch the bottom of the cooker. ( this is done to prevent the biscuits from burning).
  8. Close the cooker with its lid (make sure the gasket and whistle are removed.) keep it on high flame for about 10 minutes to preheat the cooker before placing the biscuits inside it.
  9. Take small portions and roll it into a ball between your palms. Remember each small ball is for one biscuit. Press it into the shape of a biscuit. Add extra chocolate chips on the top if needed. 🙂
  10. You can place the uncooked biscuits on a cake tray covered with parchment paper or simply place it on an idli tray brushed with a little bit of oil.
  11. Place it inside the cooker, close the lid. Cook for 5 minutes on low flame.
  12. Yay! Cookies are ready.
